Project summary
As part of the Surftec consortium, this project demonstrated the feasibility of a robotized process for finishing protective coatings inside hollow cylinders. A robotic cell equipped with a turntable was set up to house a diamond polishing wheel. The CTA developed the precise robotic trajectories and movements, then validated the quality of the process using three-dimensional measurements to confirm compliance with the roughness and geometry tolerances required for production.
