Aerospace Technology Center Board of Directors appoints new President

The Centre technologique en aérospatiale (CTA) affiliated with Cégep Édouard-Montpetit is proud to announce the appointment of Éric Faucher, President and General Manager of Hutchinson Aéronautique & Industrie, as Chairman of its Board of Directors, of which he has been a member since 2012.

Éric Faucher intends to use his experience to support CTA management in achieving its strategic objectives. "Over the past few years, the CTA has experienced significant growth, developed a number of cutting-edge areas of expertise and expanded its team of seasoned specialists. I want us to continue this growth by integrating our existing expertise and introducing new, complementary fields of activity. This will enable us to develop and deploy innovative, sustainable solutions for our many partners in industry and education," says Mr. Faucher.

As aerospace activities begin to recover, the Aerospace Technology Center can make a valuable contribution to innovation, sustainable development, prosperity and the long-term future of the Canadian aerospace sector. With its cutting-edge expertise, the CTA is participating, for example, in the development of greener technologies to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs), and in the introduction and optimization of automated processes to alleviate labour shortages," adds the new president. I also intend to pursue our efforts to ensure that researchers have access to the top-level facilities and equipment they need to remain leaders in their field."

A wealth of experience

Mr. Faucher heads up the Hutchinson Group's Canadian operations specializing in composites and thermoplastics, which resulted from the French group's 2013 acquisition of Marquez Transtech, itself a subsidiary of TotalÉnergies. Today, Hutchinson's Montreal subsidiary employs over 175 people and is actively involved in the aerospace and transportation markets, with sales of $20 million.

Mr. Faucher holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Université de Sherbrooke, and has been active since 2003 in the Montréal aerospace cluster (Aéro Montréal) and the Groupement des industries françaises aéronautiques et spatiales (GIFAS). He is a member of Aéro Montréal's MACH initiative for supply chain excellence.
