Metrology project manager
Your mandate
The CTA, a non-profit organization, is looking for a Metrology Project Manager for a regular full-time position. You'll be working in an innovative, dynamic, inclusive and friendly environment with employees with diverse expertise on stimulating applied research projects, using state-of-the-art tools to deliver quality work to the highest industry standards, in the field of aeronautics and space, with several industrial partners including the most recognized names in this major industry in Greater Montreal.
Your main responsibilities
- Identify, plan and carry out applied metrology research projects including new contact and non-contact inspection technologies;
- Identify requirements for various projects and take charge of drawing up test plans, executing and processing test data;
- Participate in drawing up proposals to customers and partners, defining the required deadlines and associated costs;
- Operate, prepare, program, calibrate and maintain the inspection laboratory's CMMs and measuring instruments;
- Collaborate on grant applications, project reports and technical reports;
- Represent the CTA in networking activities related to aeronautics and more specifically to metrology;
- Train new equipment users (ongoing training);
- All other related tasks.
Your profile
MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with a strong metrology component.
Your experience
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience in metrology;
- Knowledge of programming and use of Mitutoyo MCOSMOS, minimum 3 years;
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ASME Y14.5-2009 (GD&T);
- 3D design and modeling
- Plan reading and functional dimensioning;
- Analysis, data processing and report writing;
- Rigorous workmanship.
Your assets, skills and abilities
- Knowledge of MODUS 1.9 programming or higher;
- Using the Renishaw REVO head;
- Using PolyWorks software;
- Operating experience (MMT/CMM) ZEISS;
- Use of CATIA V5;
- Experience in digitization and reverse engineering;
- Knowledge of CREAFORM system;
- Excellent command of French and English (written and oral communication); Knowledge of English is required to ensure effective communication with certain English-speaking clients and partners
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to learn quickly and be resourceful.
- Excellent technical writing skills in French (English is an asset);
